Taming Pride by Self Correcting
Monday Motivation: Artist Notes to Lift the Spirit and Inspire the Heart
Training Ourselves One Response at a Time
I painted this little piece a few years ago and dubbed it ‘Taming My Pride.’ If only it was so easy, right? If we COULD! There is, of course a healthy pride- of self worth and self respect. But then there’s the ugly kind of pride, like being arrogant, judgmental or disdainful towards others...
Check in With Ourselves at the End of the Day
But we CAN try- little by little, to curb our inflated self- one day at a time- one response a time...And, at the end of the day, we can say, ’Yes, I WAS a bit kinder, I was a BIT more patient. I thought about myself a little less and others a little more.
“All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs the evil. The only crime is pride.” ― Sophocles, Antigone
